Inviting friends and earning rewards

When you invite a friend and they subscribe to a paid plan, you earn free time on your own plan. Here's how it works. You'll find your personal invite link on the Invite Friends page in the app.

The basics

Share your invite link with a friend.
Your friend signs up and gets the same standard 14-day free trial every new user gets.
When your friend subscribes to a paid plan on the web, you earn a reward — free days added to your own plan.

The reward is one-sided: you, the inviter, earn the free time. Your friend gets the normal trial — there's no separate bonus for signing up with a link.

How much you earn

The base reward is one month (30 days) of your own plan. Two simple rules shape it:

It's always in your own plan. If you're on Gold, you earn Gold days; if you're on Platinum, Platinum days. You can't be granted a plan higher than the one you're on.
The amount tapers if your friend's plan is below yours. A friend on the same plan as you (or higher) earns you the full 30 days. Each step below you reduces it: one step below → 15 days, two steps below → 10 days.

For example: a Gold inviter whose friend joins on Silver earns 15 Gold days; on Gold or Platinum, the full 30 Gold days. A Platinum inviter earns 30 / 15 / 10 Platinum days for a Platinum / Gold / Silver friend.

If you're on Free or the trial: you don't have a paid plan to extend, so a successful referral gives you a flat 30 days of Silver instead. Note that if you're mid-trial, claiming this ends your trial right away — you trade the rest of the trial for the 30 Silver days, so it's worth claiming when the trial is nearly over.

Claiming your rewards

Rewards don't appear the instant your friend pays. There's a short holding period (about 30 days) to make sure the payment sticks — this protects against payments that later get refunded. After that, the reward becomes claimable on the Invite Friends page, and you have 30 days to claim it before it expires. So claim rewards when you see them — they don't pile up forever.

Each referral is its own reward, and you can claim them all — they stack, and the free days add up. For example, if three friends subscribe to Gold this month, next month you'll have three separate 30-day rewards waiting. Claim all three within their window and you get 90 days of Gold added to your plan.

Claiming a reward works by pushing back your next billing date, which is only possible for plans billed on the web. If your own plan is managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you'll need to switch it to a web subscription before you can claim — the app stores don't allow us to move your billing date. The normal 30-day claim window still applies while you switch, so don't leave it to the last minute. If the switch means a reward would expire before you can claim it, email support@goshadowing.com and we can help extend the window.

Claim them while they're claimable. Each reward has its own 30-day claim window (and each first sits in the ~30-day holding period), so a batch that becomes claimable around the same time also expires around the same time. If several come due at once, claim them together — an unclaimed reward expires and can't be recovered.

Good to know

Rewards come from paid subscriptions made on the web. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play don't earn referral time.
Each friend can earn you a reward only once, even if they resubscribe later.
You can earn rewards from up to 10 friends in total.
Referrals between your own accounts (same person, same payment method) don't count.
Your friend's reward to you depends on their plan at the time they qualify, and your reward is calculated against your plan when you claim it.
